Constructing layout

I had been working in a team previously however after discussing the outcome with Steve, it would benefit me more if I worked independently, therefore I will not be using the logo I had created with my team.

I have decided to work without a logo as a result of the research I had been doing proved that newspapers rarely use logos with their title. I think that creating a newspaper without a logo proves that details are paid more attention to on other aspects of a front page such as the layout, colours and creativity i.e. making advertisements as using an advertisement that already exists is copyright.

After looking into popular local newspapers, more so the Evening Echo, I've decided against being too extravagant with colouring and design because it's just not realistic for a top newspaper, even if it is just a local newspaper. Therefore, I am going for a bold title that will stand out on the page, making it one of the main features. I will be spending more time on the title and advertisements as these are what attract readers and encourage people to buy the newspaper, which is what newspapers go for anyway.

I will be writing my own story and using my own photography for the main story. I think there is more to a newspaper than just a headlining story, so I will be doing one main story and using the remaining space for advertisements as these usually dominate a local newspaper.
